Information

Bill Haire is a native of Fort Mill, SC and was introduced to hunting and fishing by his father. He honed his skills as an outdoorsman in the woods of the Piedmont region and in the waters of the Great Catawba River. His father taught him the skills needed for hunting and fishing, but more importantly, taught him the importance of conservation and respect for the outdoors. His passion for the outdoors coupled with the respect and conservation of our natural resources is what inspired him to pursue an outdoor television series.

In 1998, Bill moved to Florence, SC and began working with Robert Hartnett on the South Carolina Outdoors television series. Soon after, he and Robert expanded the  business to encompass the Southern Kingfish Association tournament trail for a new television series “KIngmasters”. After hosting and producing both South Carolina Outdoors and Kingmasters for several years, Bill decided to take a break from television to spend more time with his wife and young son.

In 2012, Bill started a career in real estate and earned both a real estate license and a builder’s license. Bill continues to work in the real estate and residential construction business.  However, in 2014, he was given the opportunity to once again host the South Carolina Outdoors television series.  At this time, his son, Caleb, was reaching the age to get involved in the show as well.

The outdoors will continue to play a large role in Bill’s life, and he remains excited to share some of his adventures with other outdoor enthusiasts through South Carolina Outdoors. Bill’s love of the outdoors can be summed up in one of his favorite quotes from Henry David Thoreau. “Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and your children’s children.”
